Gearbox Coffee Roasters

Roaster in Florence

Gearbox Coffee Roasters is a specialty coffee roastery in the town of Borgo San Lorenzo, just north of Florence. Tommaso Bongini turned on the engines and shifted into top gear when he launched Gearbox Coffee Roasters in 2018, combining his passion for quality, cars and specialty coffee.

Growing up as a fourth generation roaster in the family-run Caffè Mokarico roastery, Tommaso cut his teeth at an early age in roasting and the coffee process. With Gearbox Coffee Roasters, he continues the long family roasting tradition but brings in the new philosophy, approach and techniques of micro roasted specialty coffee.
